The Young Stroke Service helps people recovering from stroke. We offer assessment, referral and treatment options.
We can also provide specalised guidance about young stroke to clinicians.
We do not replace other services in the community.

The YSS is a pilot (short-term) service that will end in December 2026.
We will accept new people into the service until the referral deadlines. This helps us support people already on the waitlist.
Victoria
New referrals to join the YSS will close on 01 June 2026 in Victoria.
South Australia
New referrals to join the YSS will close in December 2026 in South Australia.
Reduced access to services
The YSS will run until the end of 2026. However, new referrals for some services will close early. This means they may not be able to access some services.
Contact Us
Once a young stroke survivor is referred or on a waitlist for a YSS service, we will aim to contact them for an appointment. If we are unable to offer an appointment, we will look at other options with them.
Factsheets
Download the factsheets from our End of Service page for more information. This will show what young stroke survivors can still access.
